The great harvest festival of Nepal, Dashain is a time for family reunions, exchange of gifts and blessings, and elaborate pujas. Dashain honors the Goddess Durga, who was created out of the shakti or energy of all the gods, armed with weapons from each of them.

The Dashain festival symbolizes the victory of good over evil. For the followers of Shaktism (one of the denominations of Hinduism) it represents the victory of the goddess Durga over the demon Mahishasura. The rest of the Hindus associate the festival with the victory of Rama over Ravana. For Nepalese Buddhists, Dashain symbolizes adoption of Buddhism by the Indian emperor Ashoka. This festival is celebrated from 26th of September until 9th of October, 2022.

Ozford family wishes you the best for your future ahead. Happy Vijaya Dashami 2079.
